Meet Mel 👋

A Colorado Springs small business owner and single Mom to three energetic boys. She is a big believer in letting kids be kids.

Mel is raising her boys with resilience, integrity, and a whole lot of heart.

She works hard to keep her family steady. She values growth and community, and believes childhood should include opportunities to build confidence, teamwork, and joy.

Sports programs check all of those boxes and are joyful, character-building experiences.

With a little help, her boys can get out on the field and do what they love most.

Here we have Preston. Like the rest of us, he's out here trying to find his way in the world. He has a list of talents and passions, and is hoping to be able to put them to good use for the better of the people. One of those passions is disc golf! He's been throwing discs for most of his life and has been spreading the joy of the game with every chance he can! Now he wants to start teaching kids!

Preston has his eyes on summer camps and clinics to get kids outside learning the sport and growing in the nature filled backdrop that is the disc golf course. He has the knowledge and support of local professionals, and a whole squad of potential instructors behind him, he just needs a little push to get the ball (disc) off the ground.

We want to support Preston by providing the non-profit business structure he needs to make this dream a reality. A little funding from the community will help get him started with the physical tools he needs (Discs, Pins, gear, reserved practice areas).

Lemons Giving Circle is a collection of Colorado Springs non-profits that gather quarterly to discuss their goals, missions, and tasks-at-hand. Entrance to the circle is $100, and all entrance fees are designated to one of the non-profit participants each quarter. We'd like to attend the circle next quarter and make a splash when we arrive. Helping people that are helping people :-)
